Questions, answered
Is Readorly free?
Yes. Your phone's built-in voice is unlimited, and natural voices are free for 20 minutes a day, plus 15 more for watching one short ad. Premium removes the daily limit and the ads, and unlocks every natural voice.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. The natural voices download once through Google Play, right after you install the app. After that, everything works offline.
Which files can I open?
PDF and EPUB. Scanned PDFs that are only pictures of pages, with no text inside, can't be read yet.
Which languages can it read?
The natural voices read more than 30 languages, including English, Turkish, German, Spanish and French. For other languages, your phone's own voice can read.
Are my documents uploaded anywhere?
No. Text extraction and speech both happen on your phone. We never see your documents.
Can I hear footnotes and page numbers?
They are skipped by default so reading flows. You can turn them on for any document from its menu.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. Readorly is on Android for now.
