These terms apply when you use Readorly, made by Freehub Technology Inc. ("we"). By using the app you accept them.
What Readorly does
Readorly reads your documents aloud on your device. Listening with your phone's built-in voice is always free. Listening with natural voices is free up to a daily limit, currently 20 minutes a day, and watching one short ad adds 15 more. A Premium subscription removes the daily limit and the ads, and unlocks every natural voice.
Your documents
You are responsible for having the right to use the documents you add. They stay on your device and we never see them.
Natural voices
The natural voices are generated by an AI model on your device. The speech they produce is machine-generated. The model's license requires that you do not use the voices or their output:
- in any way that breaks the law;
- to exploit or harm minors;
- to spread verifiably false information meant to harm others, or personal information that could be used to harm someone;
- to publish generated content without clearly saying it is machine-generated;
- to defame or harass others, or to impersonate anyone without their consent;
- for fully automated decisions that affect a person's legal rights, or to discriminate against people or groups;
- to exploit the vulnerabilities of a group of people in a way that causes harm;
- to give medical advice, or for law enforcement, justice, immigration or asylum decisions.
Premium
Premium is sold through Google Play as a monthly or yearly subscription. The price and period are shown before you buy. It renews automatically until you cancel, which you can do anytime in Google Play, under Subscriptions. Refunds follow Google Play's policies. Text extraction and background listening stay free.
Ads
The free version shows ads, never while you are listening. Premium removes them.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is". We work to make it accurate and reliable, but we cannot promise that every document will be read perfectly or that the app will always be available.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the app.
Changes
We may update these terms. The new version will be in the app with a new date; continuing to use the app means you accept it.
